- 20 hours/week, 4 Month Assignment (With possibility of extension)
A leading university is seeking a Sorting Specialist to support a historical document digitization project by preparing primary source materials for scanning, verifying document accuracy, and maintaining organized records while meeting project deadlines.
Sorting Specialist Responsibilities:
- Prepare, organize, and sort primary source historical documents for digitization by reviewing physical materials and ensuring they are ready for delivery to an external scanning vendor.
- Verify that physical documents accurately match recorded metadata while maintaining organization, accuracy, and consistency throughout the digitization process.
- Handle historical documents with care while exercising sound judgment and maintaining attention to detail to preserve document integrity.
- Meet established project deadlines by managing assigned workloads and maintaining accurate document preparation throughout the digitization process.
- Support document processing activities while following established procedures and maintaining high-quality standards.
Sorting Specialist Qualifications:
- College student or recent college graduate in the humanities, social sciences, or a related field.
- Experience with library research and working with primary source documents is preferred.
Shift:
- 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM (2 shifts) or 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM (2 shifts)
