Responsible to develop ideas to maintain and improve the reliability of the manufacturing equipment, by implementing projects that design, develop, document, test, and commission improvement systems within constraints such as development cost, product quality, product safety, and time. In this job, the engineer is expected to work effectively with engineering domains, such as mechanical, electrical, and IT, to solve cross-domain problems that work with equipment and/or processes related to the use of sensors, actuators, and IT infrastructure to accomplish a specific task.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to find opportunities & develop cost analysis for rework reuse of parts and Equipment Design improvements
  • Define & implement & monitor progress on Remedial Work Plans (RWP) following root Cause Identification
  • Participates in periodic technical audits and takes part in Compliance Audit Tool Assessments. Follows up on maintenance related, remedial action plan closures
  • Work with outside vendors
  • Develop and implement subsystems for industrial human-machine automation systems
  • Program PLC and hardware design
  • Analyze domain problems and identify, adapt, and/or develop technologies from the fields of artificial intelligence, automated and autonomous systems, and industrial automation to address them 
  • Document and validate automated processes with domain experts
  • Evaluate and develop probabilistic state estimation techniques that are relevant and applicable to decision making automated systems
  • Integrate systems and software considering qualities such as security, safety, performance, and reliability.
  • Support senior technical team in the creation of a technical roadmap for advanced technologies stack 
  • Support engineering team in understanding, and oversee correct implementation of chosen technologies
  • Support, participate and perform technology transfers from technical collaboration projects in areas of planning under uncertainty, machine learning, probabilistic reasoning, and cognitive systems 
  • Liaise between Research & Development, and field operations organizations to promote appropriate decision-making technologies and solutions
  • Develop & implement Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives
  • Develop CI RWP & monitor compliance with CI Initiatives
  • Develop & implement reliability improvement practices at location

Requirements:

  • BS / MS in Electrical Engineering with software experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience 
  • Knowledge and expertise in automation engineering is preferred
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
  • Expertise in system integration of hardware/software systems
  • Ability to develop, understand and implement complex software subsystems
  • Experience working independently in a large software setting
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven record of technical mentoring and technical writing
  • Expertise in artificial intelligence, such as machine learning, automated planning and scheduling 
  • Expertise in industry standards for automation
