We are hiring a Software Asset Management Specialist to support both production operations and internal IT organizations. This role will assist with ensuring that processes and policies are followed and enforced. This includes leading monthly audits focused on process enhancement, data accuracy, and standardization throughout Chewy. This role is also critical for building the relationships between the CMDB and asset repository. Making the connections between hardware, software, and maintenance/support contracts will enhance our ability to make strategic decisions around risk, governance, and compliance.

The successful candidate will help develop Infrastructure Business Operations strategies and execute plans for Global Operations organization. They will gather, analyze, and organize information in an effort to continuously identify ways to improve company’s cost to serve members and employees. They will track software procurement processes, examine performance, spot opportunities, identify risks, look for novel solutions, and develop creative action plans within Infrastructure Business Engineering organization.


  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Software Asset Management tool
  • Will serve as a primary point of contact for software, licensing and software maintenance
  • Support the Software Asset Manager in the uploads of software contracts and license entitlements in the Software Asset Management tool
  • Work with end users and business partners to address the need for software and for problem resolution
  • Support in managing the software portfolio in order to optimize the value and reduce the cost and risk of software
  • Helps build process workflow and policies for software acquisition, support renewals, budget and planning
  • Helps track software contracts and license renewals prior to expiration
  • Supports all reporting needs and efforts for software compliance and asset recovery efforts
  • Participates on software audits and assist in performing compliance activities
  • Point of contact for specific IT Software Asset Management information
  • Global lead for all software license purchase order inventory processing including maintaining appropriate process control documentation
  • Support all Software Asset Management Projects and efforts
  • Assist in software procurement and deployment
  • Support all process automation efforts related to software acquisition, license management and deployment
  • Support all budget and compliance efforts related to software
  • Responsible for capturing and providing newly purchased asset data to the IT Asset Manager to be loaded into the asset repository
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on hardware and software asset data accuracy and work with accounting to ensure ITAM asset data matches accounting asset data. Including reports on asset deployment, reclamation, and data accuracy
  • Assist with enforcing current state processes and policies

  • Maintain the IT Asset Management policy and process documents including making any approved changes
  • Coordinate with the change and incident managers to ensure the data is being updated correctly

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Associate’s degree in an Information Technology field, business or equivalent with at least 3 years of progressive experience.
  • Understanding of Asset Management processes, tools, and technologies.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects and multitask.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Operational experience performing asset data audits and data reconciliation
  • Competency in creating and reviewing IT processes, policies, and reports
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team in a fast paced environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous Software Asset Management Experience
  • Experience in Finance, Budget, Procurement and Contract Management
  • Certified Software Asset Manager
  • Experience in Software Implementation
  • Experience with creating, implementing, and enhancing processes, policies, and budgets

$50-$65 Per Hour       Sunnyvale, CA 94085      12 Month Assignment
