Job Description

Social Media & Marketing Manager

Client is seeking a Social Media Channels & Marketing Manager to oversee management and optimization of client’s key social media channels (YouTube, client’s content marketing platform (Signal), Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) as well as creation of content and campaigns on those channels to support the client brand. 

Working hand-in-hand with client’s Head of community management, you will both create and curate content by working with internal and external creative teams, determine how and where that content is distributed, leverage best practices to drive reach on owned channels, forge partnerships to reach new audiences, and engage with fans to generate conversation and drive product education. Data should be in your blood helping to drive business decisions and best practices for growing our existing social channels as well as identify and build new channels for client to reach relevant audiences.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work directly with contacts from social media partners as well as via agencies to build, optimize and manage global social media channels both on the front-end (i.e. visual look, organization) and backend (i.e. algorithms)
  • Coordinate with global teams to ensure our content is shared across borders
  • Partner with community management on content calendaring, with a strong focus on YouTube
  • Understand client business goals and work with internal and external creative teams to develop content to reach and engage audiences
  • Work in partnership with analytics team to extract actionable insights channel performance and drive both immediate optimizations and long-term learning
  • Strategize and work with internal teams or our agencies to create evergreen content-tap into culturally relevant moments for our products
  • Manage current projects for content and campaigns as well as coordinating and overseeing our agencies with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate and manage content migrations from other platforms and revitalize our social channel presences; sunsetting any extraneous channels
  • Direct weekly check-ins with internal content teams
  • Create compelling social campaigns for client and support other internal teams with additional content ideas
  • Deliver regular social media reports to key stakeholders
  • Facilitate channel branding optimization with our agencies
  • Manage and execute content publishing and uploading; utilizing best practices around tagging, descriptions, and content lengths


  • 5+ years of experience in marketing with a minimum of 3+ years in digital and/or social
  • Strong YouTube channel management background
  • Experience in managing artists or agencies with video editing experience
  • Genuine excitement for social media with a “finger on the pulse” of trends, best practices, and best-in-class brands/campaigns
  • Demonstrated ability to manage campaigns from strategy to deployment and pivot as needed along the way
  • A “growth” mindset
  • Experience planning and managing paid campaigns, particularly on Facebook/Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter
  • Strong communications skills with an ability to drive cross functional alignment and move projects forward towards goals
  • Ability to write clear and concise briefs and the ability to internally market them for stakeholder buy-in
  • Agency management experience, especially overseeing agencies in the creation of social and digital content as well as managing our social channels and their appearance
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and eagerness to grow, pivot, and evolve with a fast-paced team
  • Project Management background with the ability to drive project completion with multiple stakeholders

Preferred Experience:

  • YouTube certification
  • Experience with YouTube’s Content ID system
  • Experience using social media tools for content publishing and reporting (Spredfast, Netbase, Unmetric, Mention)
  • Influencer marketing experience
  • Working at a Social Media Agency
  • Experience working on/enthusiasm for large brands in entertainment and/or consumer electronics a plus
  • Paid social spend experience; spend projections, trafficking, mid-campaign optimizations, and reporting

$50 per Hour      San Francisco, CA 94103     6 Month Assignment
