- 40 hours/week, 9 Month Assignment
A leading university is seeking a Safety Engineer. The successful candidate will work closely with Health and Safety staff and the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) trades to create safety protocols, procedures, and special assignments.
Safety Engineer Responsibilities:
- Work closely with M&O management staff to recognize, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions, behaviors, and work practices.
- Recommend appropriate containment and corrective actions for hazard control design, methods, procedures, and processes for all machines used in M&O.
- Develop draft safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, Machine Guarding, Hazardous Waste Management, Mechanical Room Management, etc.
- Evaluate all system safety requirements and develop a quality control system for M&O management.
Safety Engineer Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of safety engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Safety Engineering.
- Experience in process safety, systems safety, or related areas preferred.
Shift:
- Monday to Friday 8 am - 5 am.
