A leading medical institution is seeking a Research Systems Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for all data communications from the Hospital Information Department to the Research Department. The ideal candidate has five or more years of experience with computers, communications, and/or related equipment.

Research Systems Analyst Pay and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $40/hr
  • Worksite: Leading medical institution (Oakland, CA 94609 - Onsite)

  • 40 hours/week, 3 Month Assignment

Research Systems Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the operations of all computer equipment, communication devices, and peripheral equipment of the Research Department. Develops and maintains all necessary procedures related to computer operations and maintenance. Responsible for backup of all files, applications and systems software. Responsible for the safeguarding and storage of all backups.
  • Interact with Principal Investigators regarding production software systems and computer equipment. Resolve equipment failures/problems with research computer equipment. Assist with the resolution of personal computer-related problems.
  • Provide technical advice on equipment evaluation, selection, and installation. Consult on communications requirements in such areas as local area networking, intranet/internet networking, distributed processing, and voice/data/imaging integration.
  • Review new applications, grants, programs, and projects, and their effect on equipment operation. Authorizes acceptance of new programs for production.

Research Systems Analyst Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of working experience with computers, communications, and/or related equipment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience repairing, upgrading, and diagnosing computer hardware and software, and also have experience working with multiple operating system platforms in a research environment.
  • Windows 3.1, 95, and NT, and Macintosh systems.
  • Unix and Novell are preferred.
  • Able to be an effective problem solver through active problem identification and collaboration with physician investigators, committee chairs, and other staff. Uphold a courteous, professional manner with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Able to remain flexible with work schedules and be a team player. Must possess proficient organizational skills; able to establish priorities for work; possess a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Able to resolve conflicts in a proactive manner that demonstrates a high level of customer service.
  • Able to serve as a role model to other staff in customer service.
