A leading electronics testing company is seeking an R&D Technician 2 to support new product introduction activities by building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and characterizing instrument prototypes while supporting manufacturing process development and the NPI laboratory environment.
R&D Technician 2 Responsibilities:
- Work in an Electrical Static Discharge (ESD)-controlled environment and collaborate with NPI Engineers, NPI Technicians, and R&D Engineers to turn on, troubleshoot, and repair printed circuit assemblies (PCAs) and electronic prototypes.
- Build and assemble full instrument prototypes, including electronic and mechanical assemblies using torque drivers, and calibrate and run automated tests on prototypes.
- Build, troubleshoot, and maintain test racks containing electronic test and measurement equipment and execute automated performance characterization tests under temperature and humidity conditions while collecting characterization data.
- Help maintain the NPI laboratory environment and support the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products throughout the R&D cycle.
- Identify, prioritize, and solve technical problems while delivering results under schedule pressure and working successfully in a fast-paced, results-driven, cross-functional environment with flexibility and tolerance for ambiguity and change.
R&D Technician 2 Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, an NPI environment, or equivalent.
- Higher-level education, such as an Associate’s degree, or certifications in electronics are preferred.
- General knowledge of electronics and electronics manufacturing.
- Experience with electronic mechanical assembly, including torque drivers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
