A leading biotechnology company is seeking an R&D Digital Tools and Automation Specialist to support a global R&D organization by providing operational support for enterprise systems, improving business processes, and driving automation initiatives. This role is ideal for candidates with strong technical aptitude, a customer-focused mindset, and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and productivity across research and development teams.
R&D Digital Tools and Automation Specialist Responsibilities:
- Execute and manage R&D system requests by utilizing expertise in enterprise business applications and ensuring adherence to established business processes, compliance standards, and data integrity requirements.
- Provide timely, professional support for operational issues and system-related inquiries while serving as a subject matter expert for one or more complex R&D business applications and processes, including records management, lab data, and change requests.
- Develop expertise in R&D workflows and organizational structures to proactively support scientists and engineers, streamline operations, anticipate user needs, and maximize productivity across global teams.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement by evaluating manual activities, recommending digitization initiatives, and applying automation technologies, scripting, AI tools, or AI agents to reduce administrative burden and improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain high standards of service excellence by collaborating within a global support environment, ensuring compliance with regulated R&D processes, supporting audits and data retrieval activities, and executing detailed tasks accurately and efficiently.
R&D Digital Tools and Automation Specialist Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of professional experience in operations, technical support, system administration, or related roles, or equivalent academic experience.
- Degrees in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Programming, or Computer Science are preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, scientific, business, or related discipline.
- Experience supporting enterprise business applications such as Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), Project Management tools, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of data structures, databases, automation, scripting, AI prompt engineering, and/or development of AI agents.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new software systems, technologies, and business processes.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to provide effective global support.
- Proven ability to execute detailed tasks accurately while maintaining a strong focus on quality, compliance, and established procedures.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to collaborate effectively in diverse, global teams.
- Experience with SAP, Cornerstone, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and process improvement skills.
- Ability to identify automation opportunities and drive operational efficiencies through technology solutions.
