A leading children's medical institution is looking for a Neurophysiology EEG Technician to perform imaging procedures and produce high quality diagnostic imaging for the Pediatric Imaging Center. Candidates shall have a REEG T credential, and a Neurodiagnostic Credential is preferred.

Neurophysiology EEG Technician Pay and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $45/hr
  • Worksite: Leading children's medical institution (Dallas, TX 75235 - Onsite)
  • W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL
  • 40 hours/week, 3 Month Assignment

Neurophysiology EEG Technician Responsibilities:

  • Perform imaging procedures and produce high quality diagnostic imaging
  • Maintain consistent knowledge and skill levels to meet diagnostic evaluation expectations
  • Complete documentation of all activities according to established criteria
  • Adhere to department/hospital policies, procedures and processes regarding quality improvement, safety, patient flow and other issues. Operate and maintain imaging hardware and software.
  • In Ambulatory, responsible for producing all imaging necessary to meet the requirements of all research plans in the Pediatric Imaging Center. Provide assistance to end users who need to use the imaging equipment for their practice.
    Participate in training programs to develop additional skills and/or enhance existing skills; obtain/maintain appropriate licensure and certification; and perform other duties and special projects as required.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departmental staff to facilitate optimum patient care; participate / cooperate with all other department / hospital processes and activities as appropriate.
  • Perform EEG record according to the standards of the laboratory (routine, sleep and bedside recordings).
  • Measure and accurately apply electrodes in a timely manner, according to the International 10-20 System; ensure thatelectrode impedances meet laboratory standards.
  • Write a patient history gathering appropriate information from patient, patient's record and family members to includeseizure types, date of last seizure, other neurological symptomatology and medications; explain test procedure to patient and family members present.Implements alternative methods or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recording. This may include appropriate control setting changes on the machine, use of extra electrodes, extra montages and use of activation procedures.
  • Recognize artifact (patient or environmental); document, eliminate or take proper measures to monitor the artifact.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and repair them or report to supervisor promptly.
  • Participate in conferences and technical meetings.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Neurophysiology EEG Technician Qualifications:

  • REEG T credential is required as this is an END Technologist position (Registered EEG Technologist : ABRET- EE)
  • Neurodiagnostic Credentialing is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in a wide range of technical processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience
  • Understands the roles of all immediate team members and has a good understanding of how own team integrates with others
  • Regularly provides guidance and support to more junior team members on challenging technical problems; helps them balance their workload and apply their technical skills
  • Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or occur infrequently based on defined procedures and existing precedents
  • Impacts the quality, timeliness and effectiveness of the team
  • Works within defined processes but may develop an appropriate approach for new assignments
  • Explains complex technical information in situations that may be challenging with respect to controversial subject matter or characteristics of the audience
