• 40 hours/week, 6 Month Assignment (With possibility of extension)

A leading university is seeking a Maintenance Person II to perform a variety of building maintenance, repair tasks, and general facility maintenance.

Maintenance Person II Responsibilities:

• Perform carpentry and general maintenance duties of moderate complexity, including repairing and restoring furniture, repairing door jambs and stops, planing doors, replacing locks, patching walls and ceilings, replacing chalkboards and windows, building shelves and bookcases, and painting interior walls and partitions.
• Complete routine maintenance work while following established procedures, making independent decisions within defined guidelines, and performing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Work independently, as part of a maintenance crew, or under the direction of a supervisor or journey-level technician to complete maintenance assignments and facility repairs.
• Utilize a cellphone for timekeeping, work communication, and coordination with customers and coworkers.

Maintenance Person II Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in carpentry, building maintenance, or a related maintenance trade.
• Skilled in carpentry and general building maintenance practices.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor in indoor and outdoor environments and meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Journey-level experience in one or more skilled trades is preferred.

Shift:

• 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
