A leading digital streaming network seeks a Licensing Compliance Consultant to support worldwide royalty compliance and cash collections activities within a global consumer products organization. This role combines royalty analysis and collections responsibilities, requiring a detail-oriented professional who can interpret contracts, resolve discrepancies, manage receivables, and collaborate across finance, sales, and licensing teams to ensure accurate financial operations and compliance.
Licensing Compliance Consultant Responsibilities:
- Review licensing agreements and royalty statements to ensure contract compliance, trace financial transactions throughout the contract lifecycle, identify discrepancies, resolve statement processing issues, and advise internal teams and licensees on corrective actions.
- Manage cash collections and accounts receivable activities, including contacting licensees to resolve outstanding balances, monitoring expected cash receipts, maintaining collection status codes, supporting month-end close activities, and assisting with unapplied payment resolution.
- Serve as a key resource for royalty and compliance inquiries, troubleshooting system access issues, supporting finance and offshore reporting teams, managing withholding tax certificate processes, and responding to internal and external requests related to account balances and compliance matters.
- Analyze financial data, contracts, and operational processes to identify root causes of issues, recommend solutions, provide reporting and management insights, and support special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with Finance, Sales, Tax, Cash Application, and licensing partners while managing multiple priorities, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Licensing Compliance Consultant Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant global licensing industry experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Other bachelor's degrees will be considered for candidates with strong collections and royalty experience.
- Experience in operations finance, accounting, and operations management is preferred.
- Experience with both royalties and cash collections is strongly preferred.
- Experience with publishing, music, media, or entertainment royalties is preferred.
- Royalty accounting experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze contracts and assess compliance with financial terms.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to understand the broader business impact while working across multiple stakeholders and functions.
