A leading university is seeking an IT Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple large and complex technical projects, leveraging project management best practices to drive continuous improvement and ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
IT Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple projects, such as vendor selection and implementation, SaaS projects, development, and IT infrastructure projects, and application upgrades simultaneously.
- Motivate a diverse team, partnering effectively with sponsors and decision-makers, and identifying and efficiently managing project issues and risks, while successfully managing projects to timely delivery and within budgetary expectations.
- Weigh the interests of multiple stakeholders, act with the highest professionalism, and exercise independent judgment and decision-making.
IT Project Manager Qualifications:
- 8-9 years of related experience in the management of projects with extensive size/complexity and moderate performance risk, including project planning, scheduling, tracking, and budgeting.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is strongly desired.
- Ability to productively assemble, engage, and lead cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated project management ability to employ integration, scope, time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components.
- Ability to balance customer expectations with project reality.
- Depth of knowledge in the technical discipline/domain needed to deliver projects.
- Proven experience with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project management methodologies is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of project management tools and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are preferred.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining complex and integrated project plans with a proper work breakdown structure (WBS) is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in people, change, risk, and conflict management is strongly desired is preferred.
- Proven ability to build relationships and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve results in a consensus-driven environment is strongly preferred.
- Ability to lead and direct a team of internal and external technical and business staff, and align technical needs with business goals is strongly preferred.
- Solid leadership, negotiation, persuasion, and facilitation skills are strongly desired is preferred.
- Ability to navigate stressful situations and make/negotiate decisions on complex problems is strongly preferred.
- Solid experience with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio), Smartsheet, ServiceNow Project Portfolio Manager (PPM), Zoom, and Slack is strongly desired is preferred.
- Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle HCM, PeopleSoft Student and HR Administration is preferred.
- Experience with managing IT technical infrastructure, applications, and system integrations is preferred.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and testing practices is preferred.
- Knowledge of data integration across different technical platforms is preferred.
- Understanding of web application architecture and the technology tiers that support them, system architectures, application integration, and object-oriented languages is preferred.
