A leading medical institution is seeking an HR Generalist to support high-volume HR operations within a shared services environment, ensuring compliance, data integrity, audit readiness, and exceptional service delivery while partnering with internal stakeholders to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

HR Generalist Responsibilities:

  • Review, approve, and oversee HR transactions across the employee lifecycle, manage complex HR cases through ServiceNow, conduct quality assurance reviews and audits, monitor transaction trends and risks, and provide guidance and escalation support as needed.
  • Maintain HR data integrity and audit readiness by serving as a subject matter expert for HR systems and employee data, conducting root cause analysis on data discrepancies, coordinating issue resolution with key stakeholders, and developing documentation, approval standards, and governance practices.
  • Lead HR compliance and audit activities, including employee file management, internal and external audits, corrective action tracking, compliance gap analysis, development of training materials and standard operating procedures, and providing ongoing training and guidance to HR staff.
  • Deliver HR consultation and customer-focused support to employees, managers, departments, and HR partners by responding to inquiries, translating policies into actionable guidance, serving as a liaison across teams, and ensuring high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analyze workflows, audit results, and operational trends to identify process improvement opportunities, lead or support special projects and system initiatives, implement standardized practices, and support cross-training and operational continuity efforts.

HR Generalist Qualifications:

  • 3 years of human resources experience required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the following:
    • HR operations, shared services, workforce administration, position management, benefits, employee services, or related HR functions.
    • HRIS and case management systems such as UCPath, PeopleSoft, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
    • Support in HR compliance, audits, and employee file management.
    • Collaboration with HR stakeholders, including shared services centers, business partners, and cross-functional teams.
    • Support of special projects, process improvements, or system implementations within an HR shared services environment.
    • Support of high-volume HR operations within an academic medical center or large, complex organization.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PeopleSoft, ServiceNow, or similar HR systems.
  • Experience with HR transactions, PeopleSoft, and UCPath is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, compliance requirements, and internal controls.
  • Ability to accurately process and audit HR transactions and maintain data integrity.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis, resolve complex issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, audit documentation, correspondence, training materials, and job aids.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with employees, managers, HR colleagues, and business partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to adhere to HIPAA, confidentiality, cybersecurity, regulatory, accreditation, infection control, and emergency management requirements, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Shift:

  • Hybrid: Monday, Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • On-site every Tuesday and Thursday, as well as every other Friday.
