A leading medical institution is seeking a Financial Analyst - Decision Support. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic reporting and information to key stakeholders and hospital leadership, analyzing operational volumes, expense and service utilization, profitability, and the organization's competitive position in the marketplace. The ideal candidate has two years of experience as a Financial Analyst providing strategic reporting and information to key stakeholders and hospital leadership.
Financial Analyst - Decision Support Pay and Benefits:
- Hourly pay: $60/hr
- Worksite: Leading medical institution (Oakland, CA 94609 - Onsite)
- W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL
- 40 hours/week, 3 Month Assignment
Financial Analyst - Decision Support Responsibilities:
- Analyze and organize qualitative and quantitative clinical, financial, and administrative data from multiple data sources and synthesize results into meaningful reports and presentations.
- Work collaboratively with others, define and support methods of financial analysis for new and existing ventures, physician contracts, and reimbursement impact.
- Participate in the coordination of a variety of complex and confidential special projects, from planning and design stages through implementation, as needed.
- Manage customer expectations as they relate to project deliverables.
- Prepare monthly reports by collecting data and investigating results.
- Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing and interpreting data.
- Track physician compensation – actuals compared to budget and provide insights to variances.
- Prepare financial models that compare physician compensation compared benchmark Survey data.
Financial Analyst - Decision Support Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst providing strategic reporting and information to key stakeholders and hospital leadership.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or Business related field from an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of Crystal Reports and Access.
- Knowledge of Cognos database is desirable.
- Knowledge of healthcare coding (UB-92, ICD-9/10, CPT-4, HCPCS, DRG, etc.).
- Strong communication skills coupled with good judgment and discretion in interacting with Division and Hospital Management on sensitive political and confidential issues.
- Decision-making skills: Ability to evaluate the cost/benefit associated with recommended scenarios, able to assess the impact of decisions and modify the course of action as needed and socialize a concept to evaluate the impact of change recommended.
Financial Analyst - Decision Support Shift:
- From 08:00 am to 05:00 pm.
