A leading medical institution is seeking a Finance Analyst to support financial planning, reporting, budget management, and fiscal analysis activities within the Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost Business Service Center. This role supports a broad portfolio of university departments and research-focused organizations through financial operations, reporting, reconciliations, and budget coordination.
Finance Analyst Responsibilities:
- Develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts related to budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, resource allocation, reconciliations, and operational financial management.
- Perform financial analysis, prepare reports, organize financial data, and provide recommendations related to budget planning, operating forecasts, and financial resource management.
- Support financial transactional processing, purchasing, reconciliations, fiscal reporting, and budget administration activities for multiple university departments and research-focused units.
- Utilize spreadsheet and database software to perform moderately complex financial analysis, maintain financial records, and support fiscal management and reporting activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across academic, administrative, and research departments while maintaining strong customer service, attention to detail, and compliance with internal control practices and university financial policies.
Finance Analyst Qualifications:
- 1+ year of related accounting, finance, budgeting, or financial analysis experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field and/or equivalent experience or training.
- Working knowledge of finance policies, financial practices, and financial systems.
- Intermediate-level Excel skills with experience using spreadsheet and database software for financial analysis and reporting.
- Ability to gather, organize, and analyze financial information accurately and efficiently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- An understanding of internal control practices and financial compliance standards is preferred.
Shift:
- Hybrid: onsite work required one day per month in San Francisco, CA.
- Candidate could work either from 08:00 am to 5:00 pm or 09:00 am to 6:00 pm. PST.
