The Word of Mouth (WOM) Creative Marketing Specialist is a connector across the team, bringing creativity and sharing knowledge of our three core functional areas; paid digital creative, organic social media and influencer marketing. This person has ownership of a wide range of responsibilities that directly contribute to the success of the business, the efficiency of the team, and the delight of our social community. The Specialist may schedule and publish posts on all owned brand accounts, creates content for use in paid/organic social media and display, is inspired by culture and technology to suggest opportunities for social and influencer promotions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work side-by-side with WOM team members to ensure coordination and quick-turn asset creation
  • Occasional scheduling/publishing of posts on owned social media accounts, acting as the last check (copy editing and proofreading) and demonstrating good judgment of the company brand voice 
  • Contribute to social media content calendar by suggesting post ideas, themes, and real-time opportunities
  • Work with agency partners to refine creative and/or produce yourself
  • Identify and report on community trends to advise on potential opportunities or risks
  • Identify and leverage user-generated content to drive engagement and acquisition
  • Maintain intra-company relationships as a cross-functional WOM ambassador with nearly every department (Content, Merchandising, Product Marketing, Corporate Communications, PR, Customer Care, Paid Marketing, Recruiting, ACX, Brand, and Creative), keeping abreast of all possible opportunities and remaining aligned with overall business objectives
  • Be available outside of traditional work hours (including weekends) for company events and real-time opportunities

Requirements:

  • Strong design sense and ability create visual assets on the fly, balanced with copy-writing prowess
  • Competency with creative applications like Photoshop, Premiere, etc.
  • Previous experience with social media management or working with a social team; previous management of a brand YouTube or Pinterest channel a plus
  • Familiarity with IAB ad specs and display best practices
  • Proficiency in third-party social media tools like Sprinklr, Sprout, Sysomos, Simply Measured, etc., as well as proficiency with native social tools (Facebook Power Editor, Twitter Ads)
  • Understanding of social networks’ best practices – design, functionality, users (best time to post, tagging influencers, character limit) – across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, SoundCloud, Reddit, etc.
  • Basic understanding of influencer marketing with a desire to learn more
  • Proactive and data-oriented, with a natural ability to articulate the possible and move fast to make it real
  • Team player with a passion to work closely with others while maintaining an entrepreneurial, self-starter spirit
  • Great sense of humor and outgoing personality
  • Passion for the company, social media, books, and storytelling
  • Strong written communication skills, particularly within the social media arena
