Associate Editor, SEO/Editorial 768807

We are looking for a smart, audiobook-loving editor-writer and editor to help grow our SEO footprint by editing strategic web content devoted to audiobooks, audio entertainment, lifestyle, and culture. The successful candidate will be able to understand and employ the editorial voice while editing copy from external contributors for grammar, clarity, and punchiness, as well as write headlines, subheads, and other supporting copy as needed. Ability to identify and suggest relevant audio content for blog articles is a major plus. The right candidate will demonstrate a creative mind, excellent writing and editing skills, close attention to detail, and a knack for getting things done in close collaboration with partner teams.


  • Editing short and longer-form editorial content including blog posts, features, articles, and listicles
  • Copywriting headlines, subheads, display copy, and other supporting copy as needed
  • Ensuring site content follows SEO best practices and complies with brand voice and style guidelines
  • Identifying relevant books, authors, and subgenres for inclusion in editorial content, including supporting only from audio content in creative ways, as necessary
  • Light fact-checking and content tagging as necessary
  • Collaborating with partners in SEO marketing, merchandising, and social teams to optimize content and deploy across surfaces

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of professional experience in online editorial work
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong familiarity with SEO and digital content
  • Solid understanding of copy related to books, publishing, e-commerce, and pop culture
  • Must meet deadlines and have strong prioritization & time management skills
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office and CMS experience
  • Team player who can help generate story ideas
  • A good grasp of the tone and sensibility
  • A love of audiobooks and spoken word content is a plus
  • A background in books, audio, entertainment, or magazines is a plus 


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications, or English
