Associate Analyst - Planning and Portfolio Management

A leading music streaming company seeking an Associate Analyst. The successful candidate will provide analysis support for compliance, resource spending, and trend analysis to guide decision-making within the planning and portfolio management Intelligence team and support monthly and quarterly reporting with insights and rationale. The ideal candidate has experience in business strategy, analytics, or planning in a media company and proficiency in Tableau, Jira, SQL, Excel, and other reporting tools.

Associate Analyst - Planning and Portfolio Management Pay and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $45-$65/hr (pay varies based on the candidate's location and experience)
  • Worksite: Leading music streaming company (New York, NY 10020, Open to remote candidates must be located in the United States)
  • W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program
  • 40 hours/week, 6 Month Assignment, Possible extension

Associate Analyst - Planning and Portfolio Management Responsibilities:

  • Provide analysis support to the planning & portfolio team including compliance analysis, historical resource spending, and trend analysis to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to uncover opportunities and identify root causes for fluctuations in spending.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews with managers to identify incremental improvements.
  • Develop and produce recurring portfolio reports for managers and teams.
  • Support monthly and quarterly reporting, providing rationale and insights.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance reporting, processes, and systems.

Associate Analyst - Planning and Portfolio Management Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in business strategy, analytics, planning, or a related role within a media company.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business Admin, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills, capable of dissecting complex issues and formulating thoughtful recommendations and action plans.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative, lead projects independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations, with an ability to work and negotiate at all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Jira, Tempo, Confluence Google Sheets, Excel, Outlook, MS Word, Slack, or other similar products.
  • Working knowledge of SQL to Query Databases.
  • Motivated to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to seek information, solve conceptual problems, corral resources, and deliver results in challenging situations.
  • Must be detail-oriented, proactive, highly organized, and able to prioritize and multi-task while working under shifting deadlines.
