A leading university is seeking an Admissions Processing Specialist to process admissions applications and support prospective applicants within a law school admissions office.

Admissions Processing Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Work with prospective applicants and serve as a subject matter resource on admissions and financial aid procedures, providing accurate program information and responding to routine inquiries via phone calls, emails, and drop-ins from prospective students, external constituents, faculty, and staff.
  • Process a high volume of admissions applications by reviewing documents and forms for completeness, tracking files for follow-up, and distributing them for review. Receive, sort, process, distribute, and respond to incoming mail and highly confidential documents.
  • Input data and update electronic databases, collect, gather, and validate data, and maintain the integrity of data in the school database and the organization of paper files.
  • Research and resolve routine admissions issues, referring complex issues to other staff, and help prepare for admitted students weekend and other recruiting events.
  • Contribute to general office administration and process improvements, and perform other duties as assigned by admissions and financial aid leadership.

Admissions Processing Specialist Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft and Oracle Financials.
  • Strong word processing and data entry skills, including accurate data entry, text editing, and updating Excel spreadsheets, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
  • Willingness to take on a demanding workload during peak periods, typically November through May.

Shift:

  • 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a half-hour lunch break.
