A leading digital streaming network seeks an Accountant. The successful candidate will support financial operations tied to the global digital distribution of motion pictures and television series across transactional home entertainment platforms. The role focuses on digital formats such as Video on Demand (VOD) and Electronic Sell-Through (EST).

Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements, supporting corporate reporting deliverables, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and external audit standards.
  • Prepare various month-end close financial statements (profit & loss, balance sheet, etc.).
  • Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
  • Review and analyze digital license agreements (interpret contractual terms; establish revenue recognition criteria under ASC 606; establish billing and payment terms).
  • Support the month-end close by preparing journal entries.

Accountant Qualifications:

  • A strong foundation in accounting principles, proven experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606, and the ability to interpret and apply complex contractual terms accurately.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within media, entertainment, or distribution.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
  • Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (specifically SAP and Oracle) and reporting tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail are preferred.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on identifying issues and driving resolution is preferred.

Shift:

  • Monday-Friday 9 AM – 6 PM Pacific Time office hours (1 Hour Lunch) in the office.
  • Comfortable supporting reporting deadlines that may occasionally fall on weekends, and working overtime.
