Account Director Responsibilities:

  • Researche Customer’s business and prepare thoughtful questions and insights in advance of customer meetings 
  • Ask layered, open-ended questions to understand and clarify the customer’s objectives and challenges beyond surface-level detail 
  • Build relationships with multiple stakeholders (vertically and horizontally) across the Customer’s organization 
  • Shift communication style and content to fit the needs of different stakeholders 
  • Lead with Solutions, not products, when making recommendations aligned to Customer objectives . Practices cross-pollinating best practices, and creating sales strategies and partnerships within the government market. 
  • Follow best practices when using CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and other sales tools in order to manage the sales and buyer cycles. 

Account Director Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of applicable sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success as a self-starter is preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability to the rapidly-changing requirements of the business is preferred.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent listening, discovery, presentation and negotiation skills is preferred.
  • Achieve or exceed sales quota through prospecting, building and developing a pipeline and closing sales with State & Local government customers is preferred.
  • Experience in selling eLearning and/or hiring SaaS software is preferred.
  • Experience selling IT solutions and or HR directed solutions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of software contract terms and conditions with the ability to create fair transactions is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and accurate forecasting skills is preferred.
  • Experience carrying a revenue target with the ability to develop compelling strategies that deliver results is preferred.
  • Experienced in territory planning and penetration strategies is preferred.
  • Ability to gather and use data to inform decision making and persuade others to action by turning the data into actionable insights is preferred.
  • Ability to assess business opportunities and read prospective buyers is preferred.
  • Ability to orchestrate the closure of business with an accurate understanding of prospect needs is preferred.
  • Ability to include multiple partners and members of the company management team using competitive selling to position company products against direct and indirect competitors is preferred.
