HRIS Analyst

Job Description

LOCATION: Toronto Downtown Headquarters OR Chicago Downtown Office (candidates outside of the two areas will be considered but must be willing to move at own expense).

Position Overview:

The main functions anticipated for this role include performing system maintenance and production support activities in the HRMS, including creating and maintaining reports and dashboards to various internal clients and creating and maintaining file feeds for vendors and internal processes.  This position will recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation.

The position serves as a key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders and may provide overall project management for a given HR initiative. This position will also develop and maintain end-user documentation and training for a variety of audiences as necessary. 


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred.

Previous Work Experience

  • Three to five years of HRIS or HR generalist or specialist experience
  • One to two years of project management experience.
  • Systems implementation experience.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong understanding of HR processes and data, including eligibility and enrollment rules, and benefit procedures in order to ensure correct implementation. Strong understanding of HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with databases tools. Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with an HRMS such as UltiPro and ADP Workforcenow. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills. Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects.  Previous experience in a project management related role.
