Job Description

Position Overview

The Property Audio Visual Technician's role is to support properties that AV Concepts services. This position will be familiar with all the properties event operation team, have detailed knowledge of the layout of the property, and how our services are deployed. They will lead and perform Set and Strike responsibilities, and general operation of the event AV. This role will assist and be the technician liaison for the clients that bring their own AV or production services. The role will include supporting the hotel sales and operations teams as required. This role will be responsible for managing and maintaining the on property AV inventory. Critical to the success of this position and AV Concepts will be to constantly deliver successful events and exceed clients expectations. Pre planning meetings with both the client and AVC staff are critical to insure proper communication and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to and work closely with the Regional Director to plan for each event assigned.
    • Understanding from the Sales Director, Property’s Event Manager, or End Client what the goals are for the event and that you have all the equipment needed to meet them.
    • Access AV Concepts Inventory system to pick and pull orders.
    • This is to include reviewing the Lightning billing system order and equipment that has been sold.
    • Help plan Set/Strike timing in conjunction with the property’s operations team.
  • Understand and work with property Engineering teams for power and other services needed for deployment.
  • Lead the Sets and Strikes as required.
  • Operate event as required.
  • Support Clients as a technical liaison as required.
    • Meeting with the client to review operation of the equipment and kick off the event off.
    • Working/officing out of the properties as needed.
  • Ensure damaged equipment is tagged and returned to the Tempe warehouse for repair.
  • As-needed work with the Tempe facility on warehouse operations.
  • Work at AV Concepts full service properties is required and as the technician, report to the property manager or Director of Event Technology (DET).
  • Work within our inventory system (Lightning):
    • Check in and out equipment used for each show so utilization of the equipment can be tracked.
    • Write change orders.
    • Print client orders for after hours support.
    • Pull reports as required.
  • Comply with AV Concepts “Property Location Appearance Standards”.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Director.


Job Qualifications

  • Candidate should have a good working technical knowledge of meeting room AV and breakout equipment, as well as strong customer service delivery.
  • 2+ years of experience combined in AV Operations and technician operations of AV equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of video equipment including single screen projection configuration, playback, basic switching, simple camera operation.
  • Basic knowledge of audio equipment including 2 speaker and 2.1 speaker setup and configuration, ability to ring a room out and tune tune the speaker, setup and manage multiple wireless microphones including RF coordination.
  • Basic knowledge of lighting and power distribution. Setup wireless and wired dmx and simply color a space or set up a simple stage wash. Connect power distribution and check it is delivering power connectivity.
  • Basic knowledge of Meeting room AV including operation of Zoom and Teams meeting including screen sharing, basic computer configuration and connection to the internet. Using products like web-cameras, external mics and Owls.
  • Must be self-motivated, responsible, dependable, adaptable, problem solving skills, and must possess excellent client relationship/interacting skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and have excellent organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills; managing multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively handling stressful situations while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Must be willing to work the hours that the property and their clients' events require.
  • Candidate need to possess the ability to manage time and workload effectively, which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse groups are required, as well as the ability to work with the property and warehouse operations teams to deliver successful shows and events. Must be proficient with Google Drive (Doc and Sheets), PowerPoint and Outlook.
