Head of Programmatic Sales

Job Description

Our newly established company is on the cutting edge of audio advertising, and we’re looking for someone who has established deep relationships in the advertising community to lead its growth. Our Head of Programmatic Sales should own the room and elevate Audiology’s presence with top agencies and brands to drive serious revenue growth. We need a self-starter who wants to transform the digital advertising landscape to blaze the trail for the future growth of audio advertising… pretty cool.

You have extensive experience in programmatic advertising and you have witnessed the pitfalls of mismanaging programmatic partnerships. You have excellent communication skills and experience in managing teams. You are intimately informed about trends in the programmatic space and are fully aware of the technology landscape. You are team player with a can-do mentality.


You will

  • Serve as an expert in key programmatic business trends and best practices
  • Manage and scale Audiology’s sales team efforts with agencies and trading desks with a defined expertise in programmatic buying, audience creation, campaign management and optimization techniques
  • Lead and set advertiser strategy in partnership with top agencies and marketers to evangelize the digital audio format
  • Identify relevant programmatic audio buyers and build robust pipeline of demand opportunities
  • Define sales strategies and marketing plans
  • Define and implement sales processes and tools for the sales team
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets and assume full P&L leadership
  • Provide the Board of Directors regular updates {you may want to put how often – weekly, bi-weekly, monthly}, often meeting in person
  • Develop sales incentives to align with strategies and channel deployment
  • Build and manage a team of programmatic specialists day-to-day helping to develop and promote their professional advancement through training and mentorship
  • Organize and participate in industry sales events, PR and public speaking engagements
  • Travel as necessary to support business objectives (prospect/client meetings, conferences, internal meetings)


You have 

  • A commitment to excellence and a proven record of sales achievements against quantitative targets
  • 10+ years of business development experience in digital advertising with experience selling programmatic related solutions in the agency arena with the contact list to prove it
  • A strong understanding of the programmatic digital advertising ecosystem and technologies (e.g., SSP’s, AdExchanges, DSP’s, DMP’s etc.)
  • At least 4-6 years leading a team
  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred but not required)
  • An awesome sense of humor and entrepreneurial spirit
