Atmosera is a leading Microsoft Azure solutions provider offering a flexible hybrid approach leveraging both the Microsoft Cloud Platform System and Azure.  We’re looking for a Managed Storage Engineer to join our team as we engineer and operate highly scalable private/public/hybrid Azure cloud environments that support business critical (they can never go down) applications.  We were one of the first Microsoft Cloud Solution Providers (CSPs), we are Cloud OS Network (COSN) certified with a number of large, complex global production environments for customers on Cloud Platform System and we have a growing number of Azure Certified Hybrid (ACH) deployments leveraging private and public Azure on a global basis.  Our expertise comes from our incredible employees and the experience gained from the hundreds of environments we manage across geographies, industries and solutions.


The Managed Storage Engineer provides Level 2/3 management of our customer managed Storage and Backup service environments.  The Managed Storage Engineer proactively manages these environments through performance, capacity and configuration management reports. The Engineer also interacts with the customer directly on environment updates, recommendations and improvements. The Engineer also develops process documentation and automation techniques to expand the service to operational resources. The Engineer also leverages existing and new tools to expand visibility into the customer environments. This is a unique opportunity in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment with hands-on access to leading edge public/private Azure, virtualization, and storage technologies.

How you can help build greatness:

·       Design, implement various storage platforms for large enterprise environments (NAS and SAN).

·       Design, implement and manage storage replication for large enterprise environments.

·       Design, implement and manage backups for large enterprise environments.

·       Design and implement storage within large VMware and Microsoft Cloud Platform (Cloud OS) environments.

·       Configure and manage various cloning technologies within the storage/backup environment.

·       Configure and test Site Recovery Manager (SRM) in redundant, enterprise environments.

·       Configure and manage DR replication to ensure the ability to rapidly recover systems during outage events.

·       Provide health and performance reporting and take appropriate actions based on trends in data.

·       Provision storage for use by virtual and physical servers and databases.

·       Provide storage support for Production, Test, and Development systems and applications.

·       Configure and manage DR replication to ensure compliance with RTO and RPO targets.

·       Provide health and performance reporting and take appropriate actions based on trends in data.

·       Familiarity with standard backup architectures, methods and tools, including disk to disk and tape libraries.

·       Create, run, and troubleshoot backup jobs.

·       Design Enterprise backup approach and manage Enterprise backup solution.

·       Restore data at the file or image level.

·       Perform trending and performance analysis on incident data to identify potential problems.

Required “Attitude and Aptitude”

·       Storage Administrator with 5+ years in-depth experience in designing, deploying and managing enterprise storage, specifically NetApp and / or Pure Storage.

·       Experience with NetApp technologies such as snapvault, snapmirror, replication and clustering.

·       Strong knowledge of iSCSI, FC, CIFS, NFS, storage monitoring and upgrades of both OS and firmware.

·       Must have expert knowledge of basic RAID, storage tiering, storage architecture concepts, storage virtualization, local and datacenter replication practices, and storage best practices.

·       Must have experience in architecting, administration, configuration, and performance troubleshooting of at least one of the listed storage devices.

·       Expert understanding of how server behavior and IO load patterns affect storage (LUN queuing, multipathing, application IO size, etc ).

·       Windows experience to troubleshoot client issues and perform required configuration changes to connect to Storage Devices.

·       Self-starter with strong problem solving skills and who has the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

·       Creative problem-solver, capable of self-direction.

·       Must have strong communication skills.

·       Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.

·       Solid understanding of SAN and NAS storage technologies and protocols.

·       Hands-on experience with SAN and NAS Storage systems.

·       Exposure to SAN Administration including zoning, LUN security, and HBA configuration.

·       Experience with Linux, and/or MS Windows Server 2008/2012.

 Things that get us really excited:

·       Experience with Synology.

·       Experience with Veeam and Commvault.

·       Strong experience working in a Windows and/or Linux environment as a Sys Admin, including configuration and production support.

·       Experience developing tools using scripting languages (PowerShell, Perl / BASH).

·       Experienced in configuration and troubleshooting VMs.

·       Strong experience in a VMware environment (install, configure, manage, patch, and update virtual environments using VMWare 5.x and higher).

·       Experience with Microsoft Cloud Platform.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·       Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.

·       Microsoft Certified Professional.

·       Security+ Certification.
