Vice President, Strategy & Operations

Asurity is seeking an experienced business leader with a strong understanding of general business acumen and ability to execute on a wide-variety of projects and initiatives across the company. The Vice President, Strategy and Operations will report directly to the Chief  Operating Officer, using a great deal of analytic horsepower and creativity in the development of new partnerships, services and strategies. Facilitate and contribute innovative thoughts and ideas in the development of new business strategies and performance engineering of the organization.

 

The ideal candidate has an energetic entrepreneurial spirit, is analytical and able to distill a large amount of information, and is comfortable taking calculated risks. He or she possesses the ability to maintain control of goals and direction, closely monitoring the structure and processes across a number of projects in the company. This role requires someone with strong execution skills, attention to detail, and a proven ability to move projects forward to attain goals.  

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Adopt and refine the corporate strategy

  • Partner with product leaders on integrating and refining product strategy

  • Identify and drive strategic priorities and business improvement opportunities within Asurity including both one-time and continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring that discrete deliverables are well characterized with associated timing, resources, quality parameters, and interdependencies across lines.

  • Diagnose the most complex problems within the company and develop compelling, data-driven recommendations.

  • Understand and stay current with the Asurity ecosystem, including the competitive landscape, industry news, trends, and investment/acquisition activity.

 

Operations & Governance

  • Oversee legal and operations across functions

  • Drive updated governance metrics and processes

  • Work closely with the CEO and COO on Board and investor preparation

  • Tackle special projects as needed

 

M&A Integration & Partnerships

  • Drive a range of projects related to strategy and financial performance, working closely with the leadership throughout the lifecycle of M&A transactions

  • Project management responsibilities, including schedule and scope development, issue and risk management, and strategic planning and analysis;

  • Conduct research and valuation activities and translate analyses into sound strategic recommendations.

  • Lead execution on post-merger integration plans. Driving performance improvement in key areas and tracking progress against Day-1 and Day-100 objectives, adjusting strategies or personnel as required

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 10-15+ years’ experience in a business operations and/or strategic role.

  • Strong ability to execute.

  • BA/BS (or MA/MS) or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in a role that requires rigorous financial or business analytics, implementation, and/or strategic thought.

  • Experience in consulting, business operations, corporate strategy, product management or corporate development

  • Experience leading post-merger integrations

  • Comfortable working at all levels in the organization from the C-suite to business unit professionals.

  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity.

  • Adaptive and introspective; willing to learn, teach, lead, and follow.

  • Strategic thinker; strong analytical and problem-solving skills and business acumen.

  • Possess high energy, sense of urgency, creativity, decisiveness, ability to work well under pressure.

  • Ability to navigate national organization and create alignment & network of colleagues across levels.

  • Ability to motivate others to maintain a high and consistent level of excellence in strategy development, project management and outcomes
