Accounting & Investment Associate - Temerity Capital Partners

Job Description

Temerity Capital Partners is seeking a highly motivated professional to function as an accounting and investment associate and share responsibilities for account and bookkeeping with the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to support the family office’s continued growth.

 

CORE DUTIES

  • Act as an adviser to the Principals and CIO and assist in facilitating effective decision-making regarding capital balances and unfunded commitments
  • Act as liaison and daily point-of-contact for selected external relationships: private banks, investment funds, accountants, attorneys, etc.
  • Prepare quarterly and ad-hoc custom reporting (e.g., cash flow, balance sheets, tax projections, etc.) and manage asset transfers
  • Maintain budgets/reports, financial statements and analytical schedules to support the family’s decision making process
  • Liquidity management including account maintenance, reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards, processing invoices and scheduling deposits
  • Execute all treasury operations (e.g., wire, checks, journals and ACH transfers) while maintaining appropriate recordkeeping
  • Analyze external bank and brokerage account statements as well as private equity and hedge fund capital statements
  • Reconcile payments and proactively identify potential discrepancies or adjustments
  • Assist external tax advisors with the submission of employer tax filings and other legally-mandated reporting

 

EXPANDED DUTIES (depending on interest, aptitude, and previous experience)

  • Assist with analysis and management of investment portfolio (venture capital, private equity, real estate, public securities)
  • Assist with M&A and other corporate development efforts
  • Manage the financial staff of closely-held minor league baseball team

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / EXPERTISE

  • 4+ years of experience in the accounting or financial fields
  • Strong understanding of accounting
  • Tax experience beneficial
  • Clear communicator with good writing and presentation skills who is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and a self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to use tact, discretion, confidentiality and good judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters and documentation
