Responsibilities:

The Associate – Corporate Accounting role is a critical position on our team that reports to the Manager – Corporate Accounting and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Treasury Manager, and the broader leadership team to execute on all aspects of the corporate accounting and corporate operations of the firm. This position is responsible for maintaining the corporate accounting books and other corporate level business activities of Asana Partners and the investment vehicles it manages. Duties include:

  • Perform corporate accounting functions including corporate and fund entity-level accounting and investor reporting 
  • Perform monthly close procedures within a defined time period 
  • Prepare financial statements, workpapers, and investor reporting 
  • Maintain and document policies and procedures around financial reporting, internal controls, and other accounting processes 
  • Prepare cost allocation among corporate entities 
  • Assist with audit preparation 
  • Work closely with external tax team on information requests, data analysis, any required registrations and filings, and return review 
  • Assist with payroll, benefits, insurance, and other corporate operations activities 
  • Ensure financial and investor reporting complies with GAAP, ILPA standards, and other industry standards 
  • Assist with annual budget and quarterly reforecast processes and maintain monthly variance reporting 
  • Provide acquisition and transaction support for Investments team 
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a finance related field, MACC or CPA or equivalent preferred 
  • 2+ years in public accounting or corporate accounting
  • Excellent analytical and technical accounting skills 
  • Excellent Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills; Yardi experience preferred 
  • Working knowledge of GAAP; fair value accounting preferred 
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and capable of effective independent judgment 
  • Acute attention to detail and passion for quality 
  • Strong organizational and process skills to manage multiple competing priorities 
  • Ability to meet and manage critical deadlines and to work independently 
  • Proven ability to hold a high level of confidentiality with respect to all parties 
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as work independently to accomplish goals
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to effectively time manage and maintain a high level of organization 
  • Commercial real estate and/or private equity experience is a plus
  • Limited travel
