Position Summary

Anvil is actively recruiting a Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager is responsible for utilizing appropriate marketing and sales methodologies to identify and close profitable new accounts in digital marketing and analytics in an assigned geographical area or business segment. In this role, you will identify potential clients for our key service areas and work closely with them and the Anvil department leads to create a scope of work to help prospects achieve their marketing and analytics goals. The Business Development Manager will collaborate with department leads to ensure proposals are thorough, accurate, and consistent. 

We’re looking for an individual that is motivated to help clients achieve their growth goals. The ideal candidate has deep experience in the digital marketing space and an established network they can leverage.  

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify prospects and develop sales strategies from start to finish to secure new business

  • Collaborate with department leads to prepare proposals, RFP responses, and sales presentations

  • Gain a deep understanding of our service offerings to be able to speak knowledgeably to prospects about solutions that best fit their needs

  • Plan and organize activities that build our brand in assigned market

  • Negotiate terms of sales, contract wording, timing of implementation, etc.

  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities using our preferred internal CRM, including meetings, correspondence, and proposals

  • Create weekly reports and dashboards to present sales pipeline


  • Minimum 3 years of business development experience in digital marketing; 5 years preferred — consultative, holistic experience 

  • Excellent written and verbal communications

  • Self-driven, “hunter” personality

  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals

  • Strong network in the St. Louis business scene

  • Deep knowledge of/passion for the digital marketing and analytics industry
