UX Design Associate (Temporary W2)

About this position

Anthro-Tech is seeking a UX Design Associate to join our smart and inspired team. We are looking for someone passionate about delivering thoughtful design solutions informed by user research. You’ll be designing for projects with business, communications, development and design teams to create highly useful and usable websites, web & mobile applications, kiosks and other products and services.

As a UX Design Associate, you will be expected to deliver accurate and detail-oriented design work to several client projects at a time.

This is a consulting role working with a variety of clients in public, nonprofit, and corporate organizations. We’re looking for someone who wants to improve user experiences throughout an entire project, whether it is a full website re-design, developing design principles for bus stops, or generating research-driven customer personas to guide ongoing user-centered design.

Schedule

This is a temporary, remote W-2 position offering part-time to full-time support on an as-needed basis, starting as soon as possible through June 2025, with the potential for extension.

You’ll be assigned to specific projects with estimated weekly hours (0–40) provided in advance to support planning. We aim to confirm your schedule at least one week ahead.

Team collaboration typically occurs between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM Pacific Time. Outside those hours, your schedule is flexible and can be arranged with your manager.

Some of the things you would’ve done last week if you were working with us:

  • Worked collaboratively with a client team and other Anthro-Tech consultants to create a customer journey map
  • Take concepts from project leads and design leads and bring them to fruition
  • Build out additional mockups using existing design systems and visuals
  • Make concepts pixel-perfect and well written for client presentations
  • Sketched a variety of design concepts to share and iterate with other team members
  • Developed an interactive wireframe prototype for usability testing
  • Improve the aesthetics of a coworkers presentation for another client
  • Create compelling graphics for reports and campaigns

Other things you might do:

  • Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team including UX researchers, developers, visual designers, business analysts and project managers
  • Design infographics, personas, user task flows and UX concepts
  • Develop low and high-fidelity concepts and prototypes for user testing
  • Iterate designs based upon feedback from users, client or project team
  • Develop marketing collateral for Anthro-Tech to share with prospective clients

Qualifications and attitude

  • At least 2 years of professional experience as a design practitioner
  • A portfolio of UX design work including, sketching, wireframes, prototypes, and work across multiple domains, platforms/devices.
  • A solid grasp of visual design and the ability to make strong, pleasing graphics
  • A strong understanding of setting up and using design systems and creating consistent visual design treatments for developer hand-off
  • The ability to catch small inconsistencies and errors and fix them in mockups and graphics
  • Experience with software tools such as: Adobe Creative suite, Figma (or similar), Miro/Mural, Axure, and MS Office products
  • Team collaboration skills and the references to back them up
  • Education in human-centered design, graphic design, interaction design, communication design or related field OR compelling related work experience
  • Excellent communication and listening skills – work through unknowns together with your colleagues in clear and kind ways
  • Possess a strong understanding of human-centered design principles and the design thinking process
  • A passion for making an impact by working with our clients and continually learning and growing your expertise

Compensation and Benefits

Anthro-Tech offers competitive compensation and limited benefits for this role including:

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) - you'll accrue PTO for each hour you work. Full-time team members accrue approximately 15 PTO days per year

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility. The range of starting pay for this role of UX Design Associate (Temporary W2) is $38.00 - $49.00 per hour + limited benefits.
