IT Specialist

Job Description

Position Title: IT Specialist

Employment Type: Exempt

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Location: Corporate Office

Position Purpose

As an IT Specialist, you will work in positions using computer-based information systems with both network and software applications and computer hardware. You will operate and maintain technology products. You may work directly with team members to support their needs.

An ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering with any IT certification and a minimum of 3 years in a similar role. You must have an expert level proficiency in MS Office Applications. You must have a previous technical support role and be familiar with a range of IT software and hardware. An ideal candidate must have a willingness to travel to client sites to complete the work required.

Essential Functions 

Responsibilities Overview: Serving as the direct line of support for various I.T. troubleshooting and resolution.

Microsoft 365 Administrator

  • Create new email accounts and assign Office/Power BI licenses for new hires & role changes
  • Remove licenses and block access from terminated employees
  • Create, manage, and update email distribution lists
  • Monitor Azure for suspicious sign-in activity to mitigate compromised email accounts and phishing scams
  • Assist HR with data discovery of old email accounts as needed for legal inquiries
  • Dropbox account administration 

Hardware Fulfillment & Repair

  • Order and ship hardware to stores:
    • TIMO scanners
    • REMO tablets
    • Moby credit card scanners
    • Ingenico credit card scanners
    • Computers
    • Cash drawers
    • Cash drawer connector (CDC) computers
    • Fingeprint scanners
    • Printers
    • Laptops
    • New hardware deployments required by T-Mobile (new projects quarterly)
    • Phones
    • Maintenance/repair parts for the above-mentioned devices
  • Personally repairing the above-mentioned devices when possible, and otherwise replacing them via RMA when possible

Help Desk

  • Respond to incoming support tickets from Viva
  • Address emergency support request voicemails
  • Troubleshoot and attempt to repair internet outages when they arise
  • Remotely update and repair software on cash till computers at stores
  • Filter viva tickets and generate list of necessities for fulfillment
  • Train field employees on RMA processes for various devices
  • Process REMO, TIMO, and Moby repair RMA tickets to send to Connection
  • Provide level 1 and level 2 desktop support for corporate office employees
  • Provide technical support for video presentation hardware at the corporate office

Phone & Internet Admin

  • Document and approve incoming bills for internet services to catch any billing errors and catch price increases
  • Constantly monitor promotional pricing changes and search for internet services that will lower our operating costs on the store level
  • Convert acquired stores from land line phones to RingCentral VoIP phones
  • Create and administrate RingCentral accounts for new Field Support employees
  • Retrieve RingCentral licenses from terminated employees
  • Ship phones to stores when they break or when they are converted to VoIP after acquisitions
  • Administrate, troubleshoot, and replace desk phones and conference phones at the corporate office as needed
  • Administrate RingCentral large scale webinar licenses (500+ participants) through RingCentral for those that need them

IT Manager

  • Represent Amtel in monthly T-Mobile Dealer IT calls
  • Create and implement deployment strategies for new standards introduced by T-Mobile
  • Report to SLT on upcoming T-Mobile requirements and implementation strategies
  • Represent Amtel in monthly, weekly, and bi-weekly calls with IT service vendors (Spider, DSR, AT&T, etc)
  • Establish CyberSecurity best practices and implement security systems (Firewall, VPN, etc)
  • Prioritize focus of all above mentioned roles to maximize efficiency and address any emergent issues
  • Administration of Mood Music accounts
  • Xerox printer administration
  • Expense reports
  • Internet and phone bill approval
  • Charging the Ring Doorbells
  • Recycle broken equipment when possible

Work Environment:

This position operates in a corporate and retail store setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Requires recognizing, identifying and using products and necessary reports. Occasional travel may be required.

Physical Demands:

This position requires the ability to lift files, boxes up to 50lbs, open filing cabinets, bend, stoop, reach, twist, lift, pull, move around the store frequently engaging with customers for long periods.   

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days of the week may vary. Must be available to work nights, holidays and weekends.
