QA Manager

QA | Northern Virginia Area | Full Time | From $85,000 to $100,000 per year

Job Description

Our CPG Client is hiring a Quality Assurance Manager who is responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Quality Assurance Management Systems to support the manufacturing of wholesome and quality food. The QA Manager serves as an SQF Practitioner and maintains and implements Policies and Procedures in accordance with the SQF code.

This job will be located in the Northern Virginia area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement corrective actions and preventative measures related to food safety and food non-conformities (the General Manager is an alternative who takes the QA Manager's place in their absence)

  • Supervise one QA Technician

  • Implement developed policies and procedures

  • Conduct documentation and records daily verification

  • Implement cleaning, housekeeping activities, and master sanitation schedule

  • Responsible for investigating food safety and quality-related incidents discovered through customer complaints and reported by Production personnel

  • Responsible for the Pest Control Program

  • Implement Microbiological Program

  • Conducts Internal Monthly Audit

  • Accountable for the Foreign Material Program

  • Manage Product Specification & compliance with labeling

  • Maintain Company Food Safety and Quality Training for new hires

  • Conduct pro-op inspections and operational inspections

  • Collect Finished product weights to make sure they are compliant

  • Monitor Coolers Temperature

  • Conduct Verification throughout the day to make sure GMPs are being followed

  • Responsible for the implementation of Maintenance documents

  • Oversees one QA Technician

  • Lead Customers Audits and any other 3rd party Audits

  • Respond to customers’ requests in a prompt matter

  • Lead inspections from the Agriculture Department

  • Responsible for sampling products to the State of Agriculture

  • Responsible for approving new ingredients and packaging

  • Support product development

  • Support product launch

Skills / Requirements:

  • Must have at least 5 years of quality experience in a food manufacturing environment (dairy preferred), knowledge of the FDA, and Experience with 3rd party food safety audits

  • Food Safety Certificates: HACCP, SQF Practitioner, PCQI

  • Maintain a positive work environment

  • Understanding of regulatory guidelines

  • Must be bilingual in English/Spanish

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is $85,000 - $100,000 + an annual bonus target. Title and salary will be based on our assessment of skills and experience relevant to our needs for the role.
