Injection Molding Maintenance and Repair Technician

AMAC Plastic Products is looking for a maintenance and repair technician at our Petaluma, California facility. We are a small, dynamic shop with a line of proprietary products that are sold in a wide variety of industries, from manufacturers and wholesalers to retailers and individual consumers. Because of our size and focus, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in all aspects of injection molding – from machine troubleshooting and repair to process engineering.

Essential Job Functions

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance and Repair Technician is to assure our facility is run in a safe and efficient manner by repairing, maintaining and monitoring injection molding and ancillary equipment. These include but are not limited to:

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain injection molding machinery, including hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, water and electrical components;
  • Install, modify, and program automatic and other ancillary machinery and equipment (robots, conveyance, and programmable controllers);
  • Read blueprints, ladder logic, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to troubleshoot machines;
  • Support preventive and maintenance programs for all equipment, including cleaning and lubrication of shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery;
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as temperature controllers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

The successful candidate will have experience in the following areas related to injection molding machine operations:

  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems;
  • Installing and maintaining ancillary equipment related to injection molding operations;
  • Knowledge of basic molding troubleshooting, including the ability to review a part and identify the source of the problem;
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, but also work independently.

We’re looking for someone with at least 5+ years of injection molding machine maintenance experience, and good communication skills in English.

Working Conditions

This job requires work primarily in a factory environment, including the ability to maneuver in, around and over industrial equipment, hoses, and other elements typically found in a factory.

Must be physically fit, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and use mechanical tools to repair, move and adjust injection molding tools and equipment.
