About the role:

As an intern on the CAR-T Process Sciences team, the candidate will focus on a specific unit operation from our CAR-T development process and further increase our product and process understanding. The candidate will investigate the impact of operations on CAR-T product phenotype and genotype evolution. The candidate will be part of a high-performing team, work on a discrete and well-defined project, and will enjoy their time at Allogene.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Primary cell culture
  • T-cell activation
  • Lentiviral transduction
  • Electroporation
  • FACS
  • Media formulation
  • Metabolite testing
  • Curation of a complete data set built from small scale experiment results and comprehensive analysis ideally using JMP statistical analysis and Spotfire data visualizations
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or above (completed or ongoing) in life sciences (Chemical Engineering, Molecular/Cell Biology, immunology, or related fields).
  • Experience with cell culture, aseptic technique, and safe lab practices.
  • Produce reliable data and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate thoughtful data analysis and effective presentation skills.
  • Have a positive can-do attitude.
  • Have an interest in cell therapy development.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication are essential in this collaborative work environment.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
