Job Description:

Allogene is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Ops Tech HR team. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will be a key member of the HR Leadership as well as the Operations Technology Leadership team (which includes Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Process and Product Development, and Operations Strategy). You will be working across a broad variety of areas, including working with leaders to mentor, retain and grow their staff, assist with furthering the training and development program, handling employee relations matters, helping to cultivate the company culture and other projects as needed. This role will split time between the headquarters in South San Francisco, CA and the manufacturing facility in Newark, CA.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Partner with the Operations Technology function to provide HR support
  • Be a key member of a small HR team to provide leadership across the organization as needed
  • Help initiate and implement processes for a growing team and a startup manufacturing facility
  • Further the training and development programs for the organization
  • Partner with managers and leaders to assess the performance of their teams to assist in career planning, retention and growth
  • Partner with management to mitigate and/or resolve employee relations issues
  • Consult management and employees especially during the performance review process
  • Communicate company policies and provide recommendations on how to improve internal processes
  • Partner with HR Generalist on implementing a more robust New Hire Orientation and onboarding process, including new hire check-in program
  • Recruit, interview candidates and assist the talent acquisition team as needed
  • Assist with planning company events and cross-functional activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Human Resources with at least 5 years in a management role preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company (public company experience a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Willingness to think outside of the box and adapt best practices to our small, but growing environment
  • Elegant approach to employee relations issues
  • Familiarity with Federal and California state laws, OSHA, and FDA compliance
  • Exceptional attention-to-detail with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to adapt in a constantly evolving environment
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally and influence across the organization at all levels
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
