About the role:

The Clinical Research Scientist intern will be working with the clinical development team consisting mainly of physicians and clinical professionals. Intern will gain hands-on experience in developing the clinical trial materials, literature searches and reviews, review of trial data, and coordinating the completion of reports. The intern will gain knowledge of good clinical practices, and the guidelines followed in clinical trial conduct. It will give the intern insight into the world of the cross-functional trial team activities that go into running a clinical trial. Intern will report to Arun Balakumaran.

The selected candidates will be assigned a mentor and will have the opportunity to contribute to clinical trials in our solid tumors, and/or hematologic malignancies teams

The Clinical Research Scientist Intern may contribute to Cross-Functional Trial Team activities, including but not limited to developing the clinical trial protocol, clinical trial materials, literature searches and review, medical review of trial data, coordinating completion of clinical study reports.

The Clinical Research Scientist Intern will have their own assigned projects and will be expected to present their work to their study/project teams, and as a poster/abstract at Allogene symposium at the end of the internship

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review of medical literature
  • Assisting Clinical Development team with Clinical trial data review
  • Data analysis of given project(s) and creating the slide deck
  • Presentation of the work at Intern symposium
  • Gaining overall understanding of clinical research and drug development including but not limited to Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), International Conference of Harmony (ICH) guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements & Experience:

  • Graduate students must be pursuing a master’s, PharmD or PhD degree
  • Working knowledge and or experience using key Microsoft suite of business tools including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, etc.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication are essential in this collaborative work environment.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
