Substitute Daycare Teacher

Daycare | Nicholasville, KY | Part Time | From $12.50 to $14.50 per hour

Job Description

We would love to have you on our team! We are an experienced agency dedicated to caring for children and families. Our daycare teachers must have a heart and passion for working with children with childhood trauma and grief. We have immediate openings for all positions, all hours and with a variety of age groups (Birth-5 years old).

Starting pay is $12.50/hr. but can be higher based on education and experience.

All God's Children is a non-profit located in Nicholasville, KY founded in 1999 to support families & children. Since that time we have developed a foster care program, an on-site daycare, and professional therapy services.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a commitment to professionalism

  2. Make sure to consider the whole child when developing lesson plan (cognitive, creativity, spiritual, social-emotional, physical )

  3. Teach the 3 basic rules of AGC’s daycare: Take care of each other, Take care of yourself, and Take care of this place

  4. Child care Personnel act as role models for children and cultivate positive self-concept by:

    1. frequent expressive and verbal interaction of an affectionate manner;

    2. treating all children equally regardless of race, religion, culture, gender, disability, or ethnicity and elevating individual worth;

    3. setting clear limits for appropriate and safe behavior, and related consequences for inappropriate behavior; and

    4. treat the child’s family with respect.

  5. Child care personnel promotes social development through:

    1. supporting children in developing friendships and other forms of positive group interaction;

    2. helping children to appropriately express emotions and resolve conflicts, particularly when disputes arise;

    3. involving the child when personnel communicate with family, wherever possible; and

    4. use of common activities

Requirements:

  1. Minimum age of 18 years

  2. 1 Year Experience in Early Childhood education

  3. Must work well with children and have the energy and flexibility to meet the changing needs of children.

  4. Pass a criminal records check preformed by the agency. A child-care center shall not employ a person found by the cabinet to have abused or neglected a child or has been convicted of a drug-related felony, are placed on the sex offender registry, and five (5) years has not elapsed since the person was fully discharged from imprisonment, probation, or parole.

Bonus:

  1. Prefer CDA credential, CCP credential, a relevant Associate’s Degree in early childhood education/child development or possess a bachelor’s degree and/or related experience.
