Fundraising and Events Specialist

Job Description

All God's Children, Inc. (AGC) is currently seeking a Fundraising / Events Specialist to help us reach our growth and expansion goals. Salary range is negotiable based on experience. Part-time or potentially full-time.

AGC is a nationally accredited, private, not-for-profit corporation that has been nurturing the spirit and building the character of children since 1999 through four different programs; 1) residential facility in Nicholasville that provides comprehensive care, treatment and education to emotionally and behaviorally troubled, pregnant and/or parenting teens and their children; 2) a foster care program with homes throughout Central Kentucky that care for abused and neglected children of all ages: 3) an independent living apartment complex in Nicholasville as young women and their children transition from the residential program; and 4) a day care facility that cares for the children of the three programs listed above.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or commensurate experience
  • Five years of related Experience preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Experience in development activities including research, writing, editorial and messaging requests and the ability to successfully raise funds using multiple methods.
  • Must be energetic and self-directed, with effective time management and organizational skills including the ability to deal with several priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong strategically-focused analytical skills, matched with good common sense
  • Capacity to provide leadership when necessary to collaborate with others in a team situation.
  • Ability to communicate, recruit, direct and manage volunteers
  • With general direction from the CEO, plan, implement, and maintain fund-raising programs to optimize philanthropic support for identified priorities.
  • Oversee all special events produced by AGC ( Mom Prom, Golf Classic, etc. )
  • Maintain relationships with funding agencies as primary liaison.
  • Develop and sustain positive working relationships with public officials, civic leaders, media, residents, and visitors.
  • Strengthen the integration of services and build trust with other community agencies, providing leadership on collaboration within the community.
  • Assure that AGC develops, maintains, and implements an effective public relations plan, interpreting the work AGC in the community.
  • Report to and confer directly with the CEO, providing information to help the CEO and Board formulate effective policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Fund Raising / Events Specialist is a position which provides input, guidance and execution of the policies, plans and strategies of All God’s Children and has the responsibility for the ministries fund-raising programs, direct mail, special events, corporate partners, major gifts, in-kind donations, special campaigns, and donor base enhancement.

In addition, this position will be actively involved in other aspects of development including grant writing, research, marketing, communication, and volunteer recruitment, and management.

FUNDRAISING / EVENT PLANNING :

Overall responsibility for developing, coordinating and implementing the ministries development program including but not limited to: Assist in creating an effective annual development operational plan, manage implementation of the development operational plan and budget to ensure that the ministries long-term and annual development plans and strategies are being met; Manage all fundraising activities to ensure that all development work is effectively planned and professionally implemented within the time frames established; Ensure appropriate donor relations including acknowledgement letters and other correspondence, newsletter, special mailings, telephone contact and face-to-face contact; Review and update AGC’s donor database to ensure a professional, appropriate and continued donor relationship building; Monitor all foundation outreach activities and in collaboration with appropriate staff; Participate in relationship building, content development, follow-up and reporting; Heavy involvement and participation in the grant research and writing program.

MANAGEMENT :

Be an active participant with the management team. Prepare reports as needed for management and Board of Directors. Be a contributing, working member on all committees assigned.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATION :

Responsibility, direction, input and/or oversight of AGC’s marketing programs/activities including but not limited to: newsletters, website, social media, media relations, advertising/promotions, news releases, volunteer recruitment, etc.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATION :

Provide supervisory direction to event volunteers/groups in addition to: recruitment of new volunteers, volunteer informational database, volunteer recognition, and retention.

  • Ability to represent the agency to the community, and the community to the agency.
  • Ability to identify and secure alternative funding/revenue sources.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and implement marketing strategies and programs.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Knowledge of targeted recruitment principles, procedures, and resources.
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Excellent computer skills including word processing, database and internet - Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Publisher or Page-maker a definite plus.
  • Ability to communicate, recruit, direct and manage volunteers
