Sales Learning and Development Manager

The Role:

AlertMedia is seeking a Sales Learning and Development Manager to help develop and drive a portfolio of programs designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our growing sales team. As someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, this person will have a sales, sales strategy, enablement, training, or similar background marked by successful, results-driven outcomes. The right fit will be a passionate mentor and deeply analytical, with a strong understanding of pipeline management, the buyer journey, and how to close deals. She/he will be focused on working alongside our sales team members at an individual rep level to drive education, change, and growth that will lead to greater opportunity generation and higher conversion rates across the board.

What you will do:

  • Create and execute new hire product and sales process training for the sales team
  • Drive continuous learning programs that align our expertise, content, and sales process with the buyer journey to accelerate the sales cycle
  • Establish an advanced skills development program to document and share the key selling tactics and traits of advanced sales performers across the entire team
  • Assist in establishing and managing a sales enablement blueprint and calendar of enablement activities throughout each quarter/year
  • Become an AlertMedia product and sales process expert in order to be viewed as a trusted leader and advisor to the team
  • Mentor sales team members on a 1x1 basis with a focus on improving individual and team metrics such as self-sourced opportunities, lead conversion rates, and close rates  
  • Proactively build a positive and trusting relationship with sales reps in order to honestly and thoughtfully coach them on their strengths and weaknesses
  • Emphasize and teach pipeline management, deal progression, and closing skills
  • Sit in on sales team demo’s, provide email and call coaching
  • Support and help maintain an open-communication, no-ego, collaborative sales environment
  • Motivate and energize the sales team to make proactive decisions in all their communications with customers throughout the entire buying cycle
  • Know where to spend your time – make good sales reps great; focus your efforts on the biggest rewards
  • Partner with marketing around sales collateral, product education, and customer education
  • Hit or exceed specific sales metrics directly impacted by this position

Requirements:

  • 5+ years track record of personal sales success in a consultative environment
  • Experience owning and executing sales training, enablement, and associated content creation with the ability to provide examples
  • Expertise in sales training techniques and overall selling process including prospecting, qualifying, solution selling, contract negotiation, objection handling and closing 
  • Absolute passion for mentorship, coaching and developing sales team members
  • Ability to speak to past wins and how your role directly tied to an increase in sales productivity and successes
  • Understanding of and ability to pull sales reports 
  • Thrive in a highly collaborative team-based environment where egos get left at the door (no closed office, you enjoy being on the floor in the action)
  • Strong interpersonal skills- ability to coach team to successfully manage a sales pipeline over phone, email, video and online demonstration tools
  • Superior leadership skills with the ability to enable high performers to deliver and motivate under-performers to improve
  • Familiarity with modern sales techniques and tools (Salesforce CRM, Hubspot, etc.)
  • 4 Year Bachelor's Degree 
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident (We will not sponsor at this time)
