Job Description

This is the firm’s entry-level position for regional practices, with a focus on the China practice. The Associate will support the China Practice Lead and other senior staff in the practice with scheduling, team operations, client deliverables, and other duties that support the team’s client service and internal functioning. This position requires a China background, high-level of Chinese language proficiency, exceptional English writing skills, and an ability to work well within a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and maintains China practice executives' schedules, appointments and travel arrangements.
  • Prepares and edits correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents.
  • Interfaces with China practice clients in a support role, including through written and oral communications. 
  • Arranges and coordinates meetings and events.
  • Files and retrieves documents and reference materials.
  • Records, transcribes and distributes minutes of meetings.
  • Actively participate in the firm’s client management and new client development efforts, with a primary focus on the China practice.
  • Interfaces well with other team members as well as members of other ASG practices with similar responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of China 
  • 0 to 3 years of professional experience
  • BA in political science, international relations or business, or related field
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks across multiple work-streams
  • Oral/Written Communications: Can effectively produce portions of written products with clear direction. Communicates well with other members of the ASG team.
  • Personal Characteristics: Entrepreneurial and focused on value creation. Energetic, forward-thinking, “can-do” and creative individual with the highest ethical standards and an appropriate professional presentation.
  • Teamwork: Interacts effectively with colleagues at all levels and across firm. Manages ASG team members to work together to produce agreed upon deliverables. Works to create a positive work environment.
