Safety Coordinator - 3 to 5 yrs experience required

Air Group is growing! We are in need of an experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team to support and drive our strong safety initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site position and will not have the ability to work from home now or in the future. This position reports to our Safety Manager.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Associates degree required
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction certification required
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification strongly preferred (will be required to obtain and maintain)
  • 3 to 5 years' experience of occupational safety coordination and support required
  • Full understanding and demonstrated ability to perform occupational safety inspections and identify hazards
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and act upon technical data, specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • A sense of humor
  • The ability to read, write, and converse in the English language without assistance
  • Professional communication in all forms
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to keep a clean, organized workspace
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Presentation and training experience with large groups of Employees
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United without sponsorship at time of application - no sponsorship is available now or in the future

About The Role:

  • Assists with generating, implementing, and maintaining safety policies, procedures, and programs for all areas of the organization (i.e. JHAs, near-miss reporting, etc.)
  • Performs routine inspections to evaluate, identify, and document potential safety/occupational risks
  • Carrying out corrective actions to ensure a safe work environment and full compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Partners with all levels of Employees to solicit feedback on safety matters and enforce safety policies and procedures
  • Conducts accident investigations, assists with root cause analysis and related documentation and training
  • Assists with coordinating and conducting safety training - online and in-person
  • Visits job sites for the purpose of conducting inspections, safety huddles/meetings, investigations, etc. (Northern and Central NJ area)
  • Follows up on Employee injuries by calling the injured to check-in on their progress and offer any support needed
  • Manages all DOT physicals (appts and related recordkeeping)

Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Mon – Fri (some Saturdays may be required for Employee training sessions)

Compensation: $75K+ (pay rate will be based on experience)

Work Environment: air-conditioned, corporate office setting, cubicle. Business casual dress Mon-Thurs, work appropriate jeans permitted on Fridays only. Job site environments vary (PPE required at all sites)
