A day in the life (just a few of the things you may do on any given day):

  • Create, update, and employ customized queries to extract and analyze large Splunk datasets.
  • Utilize Splunk’s dashboard reporting capabilities to establish alerts, reports, and a glass-panel view of the overall security environment.
  • Utilize disparate IT auditing systems and reporting to understand the underlying impact on the overall security risk of the business.
  • Perform processes to integrate, treat, and manage data from different systems of record and other data sources for use in creating risk analyses, studies, and reports.
  • Assist in conducting an in-depth analysis of extracted data, assessing data quality and anomalies, and completing analytical research and reports.
  • Develop high-quality and accurate standardized and ad-hoc reports, queries, analyses, and dashboards using data from aggreged logs, existing systems, and other data sources.
  • Employ statistical analysis techniques (linear regression, time series, causal modeling, etc.) to measure and forecast overall security posture and risk.
  • Elicit information from stakeholders to identify valuable security data insights and translate business requirements into actionable data tasks.
  • Prepare and disseminate reports for distribution to management and specified stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing written analysis and summaries of findings that are suitable for external audiences.

What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):

  • Eight (8) years’ experience with Security Information Event Management (SIEM)  security products, solutions, and technologies.
  • Experience utilizing Splunk for indexing, search and analysis, reporting, building dashboards, developing data models, and setting triggers.
  • Experience in data analytics and cyber security.
  • BS in an analytical field (e.g., sciences, business, statistics, finance, social sciences, psychology, etc. or equivalent.

  • Splunk IT Service Intelligence Certified Admin certification.
  • MS in an analytical field (e.g., sciences, business, statistics, finance, social sciences, psychology, etc…) or equivalent.
