About this job :

This position has a direct impact on U.S. Air Force readiness. We are seeking a mission-oriented leader who understands the importance of ensuring the cyber security of U.S. Air Force communications systems, IT systems and applications for the protection of the warfighter. In this role, you will support USTRANSCOM’s mission to successfully conduct globally integrated mobility operations.

You and your team of cyber security experts will perform a broad range of auditing and testing activities on these systems to provide assurance that they are protected and compliant with all relevant cyber security protocols.

A day in the life (just a few of the things you may do on any given day): 

  • Manage a fast-paced Cyber Security team of 10-25 employees and subcontractors using sound project management principles.
  • Assign, Instrument, Monitor, and Report individual and team tasking levels and deliver reports and metrics to government and corporate leadership 
  • Relay real-time personnel information to government and corporate leadership as necessary 
  • Generate and submit Weekly Activity Reporting (WAR) outlining team accomplishments 
  • Generate, collate, and submit all Contractual Deliverables (CDRLs) as required 
  • Prepare reports, collect data, and conduct Program Management Reviews (PMRs) 
  • Ensure delivery is executed professionally, thoughtfully, thoroughly, efficiently and ethically 
  • Handle routine communications with the customer as well as escalations 
  • In conjunction with corporate, manage matters concerning contract or personnel performance 

 What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have): 

  • Direct, hands-on experience obtaining an Authorization To Operate (ATO) or Authorization To Connect (ATC) using the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Experience in managing technical security teams in a fast-paced environment 
  • Previous experience briefing senior level government leaders, presenting recommendations and/or “Course of Action” alternatives
  • Ability to explain detailed Cyber Security RMF related tasking to team, as well as team’s activity to government and corporate leadership 
  • Active Secret clearance 
  • Compliance with DoDD 8140 (formerly 8570) requirements
  • Minimum 10 years experience

Nice to Have: 

  • Previous experience leading IT teams of 20 – 30 individuals 
  • Previous experience with eMASS
  • Current or prior technical certifications in Cyber Security or IT 
  • Knowledge of Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Scanner and ACAS/Nessus Security Scanner and/or Host Based Security System (HBSS)
