A day in the life (just a few of the things you may do on any given day):

Your Mission: Expand your infrastructure skillset with exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS). 

Be part of a cutting-edge game development research project by providing essential infrastructure support utilizing DevOps methodologies with Amazon Web Services as the primary cloud service provider. You will be part of a small team of researchers, game developers, and artists who will be leaning on you for your cloud expertise. You will find yourself building on the current infrastructure to deploy docker images in a production-ready manner using ECS/Route53/ELB, as well as using Terraform to manage the infrastructure, and maintaining the full stack web application.  

A day in the life: (just a few of the things you may do on any given day) 

  • Deploy, and update docker images in AWS using ECS.    
  • Building and maintaining customers web application with Node, React, and Express.    
  • Building on the current continuously deployment / continuously integration GitLab pipeline.    
  • Scaling and maintaining GitLab runners.
  • Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, and pipeline errors.  
  • Further hardening existing infrastructure by integrating various AWS security services.
  • Attend game development, planning, and design meetings.  
  • Assist customer with future major deployment planning.

What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have): 

  • At least 5 years of experience with Linux operating system environments.  
  • At least 3 years of creating, securing, and updating infrastructure in AWS.
  • Strong fundamental understanding of IT concepts such as AAA, security, operating systems, and networking.
  • Experience with configuring and deploying containers.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD orchestration using Gitlab/Jenkins.
  • Experience using Terraform to manage the creation, updating and deletion of infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with automation through use of scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
  • Experience with Linux configuration management, system administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Strong ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service.
  • Process oriented with great documentation skills. 
  • BS in Computer Science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study (An additional 4 years of IT experience can substitute for a BS Degree).
  • Willingness to gain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Nice to have: 

  • Experience with server-less architecture design and development.
  • Web development using JavaScript and its various frameworks.   
  • AWS Certification at any level.
  • Familiarity with networking technologies and concepts.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration services.
