A day in the life (just a few of the things you may do on any given day):

  • Design, plan and implement client-specific cloud solutions
  • Identify appropriate cloud providers
  • Ensuring the cloud network is responsive to user demands
  • Scaling cloud services to serve growing businesses
  • Monitoring usage of cloud network
  • Implementing effective security strategies on cloud networks
  • Perform Network Engineering and Architecture Duties for a distributed Wide Area Networking environment
  • Design, Develop and Implement Diverse Wide Area Networking Environments for a 450-site national environment.  
  • Develop and implement QoS for a voice / video / data network environment.  
  • Develops and generates conceptual, logical, and physical network architectures, resulting documents and drawings, testing analyses, test plans, and risk assessments to ensure sound architecture 
  • Develop effective communication plans across functional teams, to include external and internal organizations, and government personnel to ensure project success 
  • Develop appropriate methodologies to track project status and report to leadership and other stakeholders 
  • Identify project roadblocks, develop mitigation, and provide risk assessments 
  • Clearly define project requirements 
  • Initiate, plan, execute, control, and properly closeout projects 
  • Meet project schedule deadlines and project deliverables 
  • Mitigate and control project scope creep 
  • Properly document integrated project team meetings and provide detailed meeting minutes 
  • Develop appropriate project documentation to include implementation and deployment plans 
  • Follow established organizational processes for configuration and change management 
  • Lead and manage projects supporting IT infrastructure and critical system applications 
  • Create and deliver presentations to leadership and key stakeholders 
  • Track and manage weekly progress reports against the plan 
  • Run prioritization meetings to understand user needs 
  • Facilitate deployment planning and coordination 
  • Collect and report on project metrics 
  • Support projects using various project methodologies such as Agile, Hybrid, or Scrum 
  • Utilize Jira and Confluence to manage project tracking, reporting, and customer dashboards 


You will excel in this role if you are:

A Cloud Network Engineer that can be the interface between the contractor engineering team and the government to ensure the most efficient solutions are being implemented, complex projects are meeting necessary milestones and potential issues are being accurately conveyed to the client.  The ideal candidate will possess a very strong networking background and can ensure that the solutions deployed meet the architectural guidelines of the environment.  The candidate will also have demonstrated experience with managing various types of IT projects, experience with implementing various project methodologies, and success of meeting project deliverables on time.  

What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):

  • 5-7 years experience in designing and implementing enterprise level networks,  
  • Cisco switching and routing both customer and data center class (Nexus, ASR, ISRs) etc. 
  • Experience with LAN to include wireless as well as centralized content delivery services would be added benefit
  • 3+ years of project management experience 
  • Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Experience with managing projects supporting IT infrastructure or applications 
  • Development of project documentation 
  • Preferred experience managing IT projects in an Agile or Hybrid development system 
  • Demonstrated experience developing project plans such as project objectives, information specifications, schedules, deliverables, and risk 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance 
  • Must successfully pass a background check and any additional customer background investigation requirements prior to employment

  • PMP, CASM, or similar project management certification desired
