The Aviation/Maritime Data Communications and Operations Consultant will provide expertise in data communications to and from aircraft, boats, and remote sensors in support of the Operations Directorate. 

Duties include: 

  • Providing direct input to AMO programs, including Mobile Command Center and Aircraft Video Downlink system. 
  • Assisting with subject matter expertise in the distribution of information over networks, and user web applications;
  • Assisting with technical and programmatic experts in defining functional and system requirements;
  • Assisting in developing operational and support concepts. 
  • Assisting in acquisition, project planning, and coordination of fulfillment projects to deliver these information capabilities. 
  • Assisting in verification of delivered projects against requirements and in post-acquisition monitoring support.

What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):

  • Must have significant experience in imagery and other sensor data communications through satellite and other wireless means;
  • Must have experience in working with operational, technical, and programmatic personnel in defining systems for the collection, management, and distribution of video and other sensor information over networks to IT infrastructure, command centers, and field users. 
  • Must have experience in conceptual user page layout of user web interfaces and in user
  • access control;
  • Must have experience in law enforcement aviation and maritime operations environment and related constraints and impacts on system needs, to help ensure the realization of practical system solutions.  CBP operational experience is highly desired. 
  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree.
  • Must successfully obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
