What we are looking for in a Finance Operations team member:

We’re in search of someone who is highly passionate about sustainability and wants to make meaningful change through their work at an early-stage cleantech startup. Working in Finance Operations at AeroShield you have a hand in supporting all aspects of AeroShield’s finance and accounting functions. You will work closely with the VP Operations to ensure smooth day-to-day processing of purchasing and accounts payable, identify actions we can take to improve our team’s efficiency, develop and implement new policies and procedures, and support grant submissions and payments from the National Science Foundation and Department of Energy.

While this role can be done remotely, AeroShield will on occasion host company events which would involve paid travel to our site in Boston, MA

Purchasing and Accounts Payable

• Leading weekly accounts payable process; reviewing invoices for completeness and accuracy, coding to appropriate account
• Supporting vendor setup and payment terms
• Supporting the R&D team in drafting purchase orders
• Drafting training for policy & procedure updates

Grant reporting

• Supporting AeroShield’s monthly grant review process: ensuring spend is in line with target, identifying which grants need to be billed, and preparing financial summaries for reporting

Other finance support

• Filing franchise taxes, preparing financial summaries for investors, and other finance-realted tasks to support AeroShield’s growth

Qualifications:

• Familiarity working in Quickbooks and conducting AP/AR tasks
• Solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize
• Attention to detail for financial information and contracts
• Strong technical communication skills, with preference for experience in preparing trainings or documentation

Bonus skills:

• Familiarity with grant accounting (e.g. NSF, DOE)
• Experience working in a small team or with a startup developing new policies and procedures
