What we are looking for in a Business Operations Intern

We’re in search of someone who is highly passionate about sustainability and wants to make meaningful change through their work at an early-stage green-tech startup. As a Business Operations Intern at AeroShield, you gain broad exposure to operating an early-stage startup by supporting ongoing processes and strategic projects across finance, operations, marketing, and business development. You will work closely with the VP Operations and the CEO to propose actions we can take to improve our team’s efficiency, grow our industry presence, and manage our financial resources. You will also have the opportunity to see many of your proposals implemented throughout your internship. There are lots of opportunities to customize this role for your professional development goals and to optimize your major projects and tasks based on prior experience. Specific projects may include:

Marketing:

• Creating Linkedin and website marketing content
• Helping compile AeroShield’s newsletter for investors and broad audience
• Working with industry advisors to define AeroShield’s “Brand” as company in order to support the creation of new marketing content

Operations:

• Developing and implementing new policies and procedures, including preparing and delivering training to the AeroShield team
• Supporting leadership presentations with background research or data analysis

Business Development:

• Conducting market research (online, expert calls, market interviews) on consumer trends, competitive products, and changing regulations / incentives to support BD activities
• Organizing market research data (industry & federal reports, stakeholder interviews, customer contacts)
• Supporting grant and prize applications, reporting, and expense tracking

We expect this internship to be hybrid, with some work being conducted in-person at our facility in Waltham, MA. Some work (e.g. research) can be done on-site or remotely.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree specializing in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Operations, or similar (see other postings for other majors)
• Experience developing professional written presentation materials (e.g. training documents, strategy decks, marketing plans, or market research reports)
• Passionate about sustainability and climate awareness
• Able to take initiative and work independently as well as on a team

Bonus skills:

• Prior experience in operations, at a startup, in a sustainability-focused organization, in strategy consulting, or in a marketing role
• Experience in Quickbooks or with financial reporting
