Sales Consultant

Sales | Edinburgh, United Kingdom | Full Time

Job Description

The Company

Administrate is a software company based in TechCube, Edinburgh’s world-class start-up incubator.  We launched at the start of 2011 and now have customers spanning 5 continents as a result of continuous month-on-month growth since inception.  We’re looking to add to our sales team in order to capitalise on the growing number of enquiries, take a proactive approach to increasing our monthly win-rate, and increase revenues.

The Product

Administrate is a SaaS product sold to the training industry worldwide.  It’s made up of 3 core modules (CRM, Events, Financial) which work together to create a mini ERP system designed exclusively for training providers.  Administrate is built for commercial training providers of all sizes, and large internal training departments.

The Job

You’ll be responsible for managing inbound enquiries, generating new business and maximising upsell opportunities to the existing customer base.  You’ll do this primarily via telephone and screenshare, opening communication channels directly and via the free trial offered to every prospect.

The Person

You’ll be a consultative salesperson, focussed on your prospects’ business requirements and highly capable of thinking on your feet in order to manage and maintain control of the sales process.  You’ll be comfortable selling at Director level within large organisations and to business owners within smaller companies.  You’ll be the kind of person who seeks out a decision-maker and utilises existing contacts to get there.  You will be detailed-oriented and unafraid of admin, with a very determined attitude and a ‘get the job done’ mentality.

Essential Experience:

  • 2-3 years selling complex, workflow-based software (e.g., SAP, Sage)
  • 1-2 years in a start-up
  • 1-2 years selling a SaaS product
  • Selling online & in person (one-to-one and groups)
  • Managing short sales cycles (1-3 months)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Formal sales training such as SPIN or Solution Selling
  • International sales experience
  • Experience selling to or working within the training industry
