Research Assistant

Job Description

Achieve is a research and creative agency for causes. Through qualitative and quantitative approaches to research, Achieve delivers clients and sponsors information on causes that nonprofits and companies can use to build upon their fundraising and marketing success. Due to a growth in the research area from clients and sponsors interested in understanding the behavior of donors, constituents and employees, Achieve is hiring for a new full-time position, research assistant. 

This position will assist the research department staff with tasks associated with high-quality, responsive and timely research activities that support the needs of clients and Achieve. The research assistant is responsible for supporting Achieve’s research initiatives and client research projects.

The research assistant must possess technical skills as well as a passion for research, and be able to adapt to the changing needs of many different internal and external stakeholders. The research assistant must communicate professionally and work with flexibility, efficiency and diplomacy, both individually and as part of a complex team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Participate as a staff team member and represent Achieve in various 
research activities and projects, meetings, public events

  • Participate on the Research and Strategy Team by providing input on operational processes and project implementation for research and campaign projects

  • Assist in providing clear and useful elements of reports for clients, staff, and other stakeholders as needed

  • Assist with monitoring a research plan for each client and 
research project

  • Develop and prepare internal reports of status, progress and outcomes
of client research projects

  • Assist with providing information for written proposals to initiate research or special projects as necessary

  • Assist with research and analysis of issues as requested, including but not limited to data collection, analysis and reporting

Skills & Qualifications

  • Highly proficient and knowledgeable in the use of current computer
software and tools.

  • High level of organization and attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

  • High level of data analysis skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Knowledge of and experience using research, data and statistics to inform program, fundraising and/or marketing development.

  • Demonstrated experience working with quantitative and qualitative research methods.

  • Ability to summarize findings and present them in ways easily understandable to decision-makers.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data using a computer database or data analysis software.

  • Understanding of statistical principles and methods for data analysis.
